The
Financial Health Centre (TFHC) is headed up by
Ian M P Condie. Ian, a chartered acountant and
senior partner of the CA practice, Condies, has
been representing medical practices since 1976,
and has specialised in the health sector since
1984. His role in TFHC's activities is very much
'hands on' and he spends a great deal of time
meeting with GPs discussing their results with
them and helping them to identify trends, and
profit improvement opportunities. He also leads
the strategic review function, identifying key
areas of potential interest to TFHC's clients,
and initiating the appropriate research.
Joining us in October 2004, Pauline
was appointed as a partner on 1st April 2006.
Pauline trained as a chartered
accountant with Cowan & Partners in Leith
and after qualifying moved to Tenon (then Scott
Oswald) where she spent seven years, acting for
GP's and other professionals. As well as conducting
many of the GP accounts review meetings Pauline
frequently presents at seminars and workshops
on areas of interest to GP's and practice managers
alike. Pauline carries out much of the research
and reporting work within TFHC and also edits
TFHC's quarterly "Heartbeat" publication
and writes some of the TFHC Briefing Notes on
accounting issues.
Much
of the liaison between TFHC and your Practice
Manager will be by Maria, who leads the team of
highly trained Accounts Seniors in BSG who prepare
the draft practice accounts. Maria has a considerable
depth of knowledge of GP accounting systems, both
manual and computerised, and advises Practice
Managers how to deal with accounting issues in
practical terms.
Alexis
Boyd-McEwan BA (Hons) ATT - Tax Compliance Supervisor
Very
much at the sharp end of our tax compliance service,
Alexis is usually the person on the other end
of the phone when a GP client phones with a query
on their tax. A bit of a late starter, Alexis
graduated from Dundee Institute of Technology
(now Abertay University) in 1993 and spent two
years in Perth developing her tax knowledge. She
joined Condies in 1995 and since then has spent
her time specialising in partnership and GP's
taxation.
